FADE IN:
EXT. STREET/TRAIN STATION - NIGHT
DAN, 19, is standing at the deserted platform wearing a zipped up leather jacket with a Chelsea FC scarf wrapped around his neck.
AARON, 15, wearing ripped jeans and a buttoned up checkered shirt walks into the platform from the left side of the station. Music blares through a large pair of cups he is wearing. He notices Dan and sits down on a bench beside Dan. Aaron looks up at Dan.
Dan realises he is being looked at. He turns and gives Aaron a quick thumbs up.
TERRY, 17, enters into the platform from the right side of the station. He’s dressed in a grey Nike tracksuit with the hood up. He slouches on the bench next to Aaron.
Terry looks around at the two teenagers while keeping his hands in the front pocket of his hoodie. He takes a glance up at Dan. Terry goes into his pocket and pulls out a packet of cigarettes from his pocket. He roots around in his pockets for a lighter.
Dan looks over at Terry and notices his struggle to find the lighter. He reaches into his pocket and pulls a cigarette packet. Terry looks up as Dan takes a lighter of the packet and toss the empty packet to the floor.
Dan leans over and offers Terry the lighter.
DAN
‘There you go mate.’
Terry looks slightly surprised, but reaches out and takes the lighter. He looks down and takes a cigarette from the packet. As he takes out a cigarettes, he looks down at the empty packet and takes out a second.
He puts a cigarette in his mouth, then offers the other to Dan.
TERRY
‘You want one?’
Dan takes the cigarette and puts it in his mouth.
DAN
‘Thanks man.’
Terry leans over and lights Dan’s cigarette. As he does this, Dan notices a tattoo saying ‘BLUES 4 LIFE’ across his knuckles and thumbs. Terry lights his own cigarette then passes it back to Dan.
TERRY
‘Cheers.’
Both of them take a drag on their cigarette and vaguely look around the platform. Dan looks down and again notices Terry’s tattoo, prompting him to start a conversation.
DAN
‘Were you at the match on Saturday?‘
TERRY
‘Yeah.’
DAN
‘The game’s gone crazy man.’
TERRY
‘My old man’s a QPR supporter, so I didn’t hear the end of it.’
DAN
‘Haha, at least we didn’t do as badly as United that weekend.’
They both look around and take a drag from their cigarettes.
DAN
‘Abromavich really needs to get someone else in.’
TERRY
‘We need someone like Tevez or Villa if we want to start winning more games.’
The Conversation dies down as the two boys have a look around the platform. A train comes.
Terry takes one more drag on his cigarette then throws it to the floor and stamps it out. Terry steps towards the doors of the carriage and steps on.
Dan quickly follows.
Aaron walks towards the carriage, but is scrabbling around in his pocket for a travel card. He pulls out a scruffy looking ticket and steps onto the carriage.
INT.EMPTY TRAIN CARRIAGE - NIGHT
Terry walks onto the carriage and notices a group of his friends, all dressed in tracksuits and hoodies sitting down. He walks down the carriage and sits with them.
Dan, noticing the group, goes to sit down. One of the members of the group, trying to wind up Dan, sticks his leg out. Dan steps over the leg, trying to show confidence goes and sits straight down. Terry looks over to Dan and gives him a quick nod of reassurance.
Aaron, notices the group, and begins to fidget and panic. The group see Aaron and begin to stare him out. He sits down on the same side as the Hoodies.
The group quiet down and notice the loud music blaring from Aaron’s headphones, then begin to laugh loudly.
One of the hoodies finishes a can drink, then tosses the can over in Aaron’s direction.
HOODIE ONE
‘Oi, mop’ed.’
Terry looks over at Dan, and notices an uneasy expression on his face.
Another hoodie looks around at the rest of the group then also starts to taunt Aaron
HOODIE TWO
‘Oi mug, open your ear holes.’
Aaron, quickly glances up, catching the eye of the first hoodie. The whole group continue to stare him out. Terry starts to notice and quickly glances between Dan and the group.
TERRY
‘Leave him alone. He’s only a little squit.’
The group begin to look at each other and laugh between themselves, as the first hoodie looks over to Terry.
HOODIE ONE
‘What’s the matter with you? You gone soft?’
Dan see’s what’s going then decides to get and up and sit next to Terry. Terry looks around and gives him a quick nod.
HOODIE THREE
‘Who’s this twat now?’
Hoodie two laughs to himself before speaking to the whole group.
HOODIE TWO
‘He’s got some guts whoever he is.’
TERRY
‘Nah he’s alright, he’s a blues supporter.’
The main hoodie in the group looks up and begins to laugh, as the rest of the group start to copy this.
HOODIE ONE
‘Look at you, football gayboys.’
HOODIE THREE
‘Yeah, all you do is bang on about bloody Chelsea.‘
Aaron, notices the discussion and looks at Terry. The first hoodie, see’s the two making eye contact. He’s points over to Aaron.
HOODIE ONE
‘What about him, is he gonna join your little fan boy club too? Haha.’
HOODIE TWO
‘Yeah go on Terry, go and have fun with your new mates.’
As the train starts to slow down, Dan and Aaron quickly exchange glances. They both pick up their bags and walk to the doors of the carriage. Terry looks at the two boys as the doors open. He looks between Aaron and Dan and the group next to him for a split second. The two walk off the carriage then walk off in different directions. Terry continues to watch the station as the train leaves the platform.
